Gig Harbor man dies in car crash

A Gig Harbor man died and his wife was injured in an accident
on U.S. Highway 12, the Washington State Patrol reported Saturday.

Robert T. Simon, 65, was headed west near milepost 75 in a
1976 Porsche 912 about 2:40 p.m. Friday when the vehicle left
the road and rolled multiple times, coming to rest in a ditch
on the north side of the road.

Simon died at the scene. His wife, Pamela K. Simon, 51,
was taken to Providence Hospital Centralia and was in good
condition Saturday night, a nursing supervisor said.

Their dog, a white Maltese named Nick, was in the car
and disappeared at the accident scene.
